Osama A. Alayoub

Biography

Mr. Alayoub was until recently the President & CEO of the Kuwait Investment Office (“KIO”), the oldest sovereign wealth fund in the world and the branch office of the Kuwait Investment Authority (“KIA”) in London. KIO is a direct investor globally across all major asset classes, including equities, fixed income and alternatives. Mr. Alayoub was instrumental in the creation of the operationally independent direct infrastructure manager Wren House Infrastructure, recognized globally today.

Prior to joining KIO, Mr. Alayoub was a Managing Director with Goldman Sachs working with the Middle East and North Africa team on the coverage of sovereign wealth funds in the region. Mr. Alayoub joined Goldman Sachs in 2008 and was the co-head of the European Special Situations Group for the MENA region. Osama started his career at KIA, where he spent 13 years and was the head of private equity activities. He also served on the Rhône Fund III advisory board. Mr. Alayoub earned a BSc in Civil Engineering from Kuwait University in 1994.
