Biography

Dr. Norman Goldberg joined Rhône as a Senior Advisor in 2026. He is a global industrial executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across the specialty chemicals, advanced materials, and industrial technology sectors.

Norman most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of tesa SE, a global leader in adhesive solutions and a subsidiary of Beiersdorf, from 2020 to 2025. Prior to becoming CEO, he served on tesa’s Executive Board with responsibility for its Industrial Business division. Before joining tesa, Norman was Co-Chief Executive Officer of Lohmann GmbH & Co. KG, a leading international adhesive technology company, and held a series of senior leadership roles at Henkel spanning business management, innovation, and research and development across Europe and Asia.

Earlier in his career, Norman held academic appointments as a Visiting Scientist and Lecturer at Cornell University, where he conducted research in theoretical and computational chemistry under the mentorship of Nobel Laureate Roald Hoffmann, and as an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He has authored more than 30 scientific publications and holds several patents.

Norman has extensive international operating and board experience, with expertise in strategy, innovation, operational excellence, sustainability, portfolio management, and business transformation. He is the Chair of the Board of Directors of ASK Chemicals and currently serves on the Board of Directors of EOC Group and on the supervisory board of Rudolf Chemie. He previously served on the advisory and supervisory boards of R+V Versicherung and Hamburg Airport.

Norman holds a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from the Technical University of Berlin and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Justus Liebig University Giessen.
