Biography

Mr. Buerstedde joined Rhône in 2004 and became a Managing Director in 2011. During his tenure at Rhône, Mr. Buerstedde has been active in the sourcing, execution, and monitoring of investments in the business services, consumer, energy and general industrial sectors and also covers German and Spanish speaking markets and is a member of Rhône’s Executive Committee. Before joining Rhône, Mr. Buerstedde worked in the mergers and acquisitions department of Citigroup.

Mr. Buerstedde currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hudson’s Bay Company, Maxam, Rexair, Saks, and Saks OFF 5TH. He previously served on the board of several Rhône portfolio companies, including Elizabeth Arden (NYSE: RDEN), Global Knowledge, Magnesita (BOVESPA: MAGG3), Neovia Logistics, UTEX, and Wahoo.

Mr. Buerstedde received a European Master in Management with distinction from ESCP-EAP European School of Management in Paris and a Master in Finance with distinction from the London Business School. Prior to this, Mr. Buerstedde served as second lieutenant in German Army Intelligence.
